The program objectives are:
- Describe how overlooking basic risk management principles (communication, follow up) can impact a future legal dispute over medical treatment and injured patients
- Recite from case examples how a physician’s early words can be key to better patient outcomes
- Discuss how a written treatment plan should also document the reasons when those plans change
- Recognize that if not followed up, a physician’s early words and orders can become an opposing attorney’s script for trial.
