A new case from the Court of Appeal delves deeply into California law governing informed consent and negligent medical advice, starting with the threshold issue of whether a surgeon’s full discussion on a particular procedure will shield the physician from liability if he or she was negligent in recommending the surgery in the first place.

Best Company, a global full-service credit rating agency dedicated to serving the financial and healthcare service industries. This is the 14th year running that the organization has achieved this distinction.

CAP's General Counsel Gordon Ownby will analyze real life medical malpractice claims that arise from the inner workings of the medical office. Physicians can't do it all themselves, and sometimes their office staff go beyond the scope of their duties. Mr. Ownby will show examples of why protocols, training, and staying aware of what is going on in the medical office are important to reducing risk.
