"Reducing Liability in Your Medical Office" CME Presentation (Merced)

The Cooperative of American Physicians, Inc. (CAP) is proud to partner with the Merced-Mariposa County Medical Society (MMCMS) in hosting Reducing Liability in Your Medical Office, a CME* dinner program for physicians – at no cost or obligation. This presentation will teach you to recognize how the routine practices and systems in your office may put you at risk. It will provide practical tools and strategies aimed at mitigating risk in your office. Even minor changes in this area can ultimately increase patient safety and satisfaction. 
 

Program Objectives:
  • Identify three key components for an effective risk management plan for the practitioners office
  • Describe the medical assistants’ scope of practice
  • Explain the importance of good documentation and the risks associated with technology in medicine
  • Identify three core principles of the patient experience that will favorably impact healthcare outcomes
  • Explain common problems in physician-patient communication and identify improvement strategies

About the Speaker:

Anne Marie Lyddy is a senior risk management and patient safety specialist at the Cooperative of American Physicians, Inc. A Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management, Ms. Lyddy has extensive acute care experience in quality, patient safety, and risk management across the continuum of care. Prior to joining CAP, she worked as a risk management specialist at Medical Underwriters of California where she managed claims prevention processes for large physician groups. Ms. Lyddy earned a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from University of New Hampshire, Durham and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from College of the Holy Cross.
